The Green Weenie fly originated in Pennsylvania. It is a very simple pattern but it is deadly on trout as well as several other species fish. That may be because it imitates a drown inch worm or green caddis nymph or it may simply be because of its bright color. Famous fly fisherman Lefty Kreh says he's even caught trout on these flies in New Zealand where he's never seen an inch worm. Simply put: these flies work.
